Goodness! I've been lucky on the sewing machine front, then, I guess. My first was a Singer that was older than me (and weighed as much as my car). A complete workhorse. My "new" one I bought for a song from my friend's dad when her mother died. It's a Bernina, and an older model, but I'm confident that it'll last me a good, long while.

That is an invaluable article, though - good find!

Well, that makes me not at all unhappy about my used Pfaff Tipmatic.
