A Brandee Update

Life got busy for me and so Marguerite took care of Brandee this last weekend. Add to that I didn't go to the barn Friday because Brandee had a training ride.
Saturday M went out pretty late -- something like 7:00 PM. Brandee was acting so stiff that M called the vet. Brandee was not stocked up, she was still eating, she had a temperture in the normal range, her gut sounded fine, no congrestion in the lungs detected, so all the vet could do is give her some but intraveneously and leave us with some bute and instructions to hand walk the next few days.
Sunday M went out, gave B her bute and handwalked 2 times. She said Brandee acted like nothing had happened Saturday.
Yesterday I went out after work. I gave Brandee her 1 gram of bute, per vet instructions. I handwalked her, but it was clear that Brandee was high. So I gave her a turnout where she rolled, jumped up, and ran around like a maniac. The she stopped, which is SOP for her.
I walked her a little and then groomed her. She was still huffing and breathing heavily, which I chalked up to her running around. When I was done gooming she still felt hot to me, so I walked her some more and she did feel cooler, but she was still breathing heavy. She wanted to go back the her stall and eat, so she was definately not dying or anything. ;-)
I hope it's nothing. It probably is nothing. I might try saddling her up and walking her around tonight. Tomorrow she has her standard chiro appt and I'll ask what he thinks. But she was moving fine, as near as I can tell.
The joys of being a horse mommy. :-/
