OK, so that's not 100% true at this very moment since I'm currently at work. ;-)

We didn't get all that far Saturday, only to Roseburg (which is in the middle of OR). J/S wasn't feeling up to going over the pass in the dark so we found a kitty-friendly Motel 6 and crashed. We were on the road by 8 am Sunday, and with a leisurely lunch at the Black Bear Diner in Redding and a bunch of rest stops we pulled into my house at 6 PM.

Unloaded the car and was pretty amazed at all the stuff we'd packed into a rather small car (Maria accused us of having a Clown Car ;-) ). Then we just vegged out and watched Hairspray (the musical). I love that movie, and now so does J/S :-) .

I think the way we broke up the trip worked out best for Madeline North. She was really upset Saturday until we took her out of her crate. But then she got to spend time sleeping with us in the hotel room, so she must have figured out that the crate wasn't a Forever thing. Sunday she did fine in the car and only meowed a little. The 2 Madelines have yet to meet each other -- we'll see how that goes...

Tomorrow is the Great Furniture Move of 2010. A big shout-out thank you to Morgan and Rat and Jen for coming by with their Trucks of Usefulness so I can get that furniture out of the garage. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, which is unfortunate. :-/

Overall, so far, so good. J/S is going to drive down and meet me at Sewing Night, and we'll get the Taking Care of Belle The Kitten While M&B are at Estrella-brief from Marguerite. J/S will also learn how to use their TiVo (so that he won't have to go cold-turkey from TV, since I havent' had TV since about 1987). Today was mostly a day of rest for him. Last I checked he was about to walk around exploring Livermore's little downtown. :-)

Bottom line: Squee!!! And to all of you headed out to Estrella: Have a SPARKLETASTIC time! :-)
