Movie Distraction
Jan. 26th, 2010 12:57 amI got completely sucked in to watching the movie The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Wow, *excellent* movie if you are into Art House Westerns/psych dramas. To give you a sense of is AH-ness, it is not too much of an exaggeration that this movie makes The New World seem like Avatar ;-) .
aastg, it's right up your alley if you haven't seen it yet.
I did get through sorting a bunch of boxes, so I didn't waste the evening. But I did go back and pretty much watch this movie twice. Clearly my brain needed that sort of distraction.

FINALLY.....
Date: 2010-01-27 02:46 am (UTC)There were some wonderfully crafted scenes: the one that leaps to mind is the guy riding on a deserted road on a moonless night, and you see Jesse James riding slowly up behind him, out of focus, an image that makes James as frightening as a mean ghost.
However, I have to say that "The New World" is in a class by itself. Is there anything more cool than the using the Rhine music from "Das Rhinegold" in the opening scene of the first English ship coming up the James River? Sigh....
Jeez, lady - we REALLY need a play date.
