Mystery Man

It's late and I'm too tired to write about my latest J/S visit (god I miss him!) and Sport of Kings (spectacuarly successful event -- big, big thanks and congrats to all of you that made it happen!) at the moment. But I *will* write about an incident that I'm still trying to figure out.

At PDX, when J/S and I were making our very sad and tearful goodbyes, this tall guy, I'd say in his 30s, broadly built but not fat, brownish-short hair and short beard, walks by us and says to us "Go West". Now, I get the vibe that he knows us/had been to SoK, but I'm not sure.

I check in and am rolling my bag to the drop-off place and this same guy walks by me and says something like "You show good taste picking a fighter type". I confusedly smile and nod (difficult, because at this point I'm bearly holding it together. :-/ ).

I can't figure out who this guy was. He had obviously been to SoK, and was flying somewhere, but he wasn't on mine or Gillian/Leotulf's flight. I'm not very well known, but he knew I was from the West, and odds are good he knew who J/S was.

The only person I can think of is Magnus, who moved to I think the Outlands but was from the West. I don't know him (we travelled in different circles). I was told at Estrella that Magnus was there and found it highly amusing that J/S and I had hooked up, which might be reason enough to walk by making humorous comments. But I thought I knew what he looked like and this wasn't what I remember him looking like.

Wierd. My brain doesn't like mysteries. :-0

P.S. I didn't think it could be any harder to leave J/S and get on the damn plane, but I was wrong. :-(

Unless he's developed teleportation capability and didn't tell me (in which case I'd have to kill him) I can assure you that *that* Magnus was safely home in CO all weekend. (Not that he wouldn't have loved the event, and he's tickled about you and J/S for sure!) So I'm afraid you will have to keep searching for your mystery man! :-)

ok, thats just wierd...

long distance relationships and the attendant good byes are really really hard :(. fortunately with the internet, and relatively cheap and easy flights, its easier than it used to be....

my LD guy back in the day would remind me that if he was in the military, it would be even worse. I dont think I found that thought as comforting as he intended it to be....

no real tips or tricks. its hard. period. *hugs*....

I think you're talking about a guy named Richard - recentish transplant from Meridies. I only just met him at Purg, but I believe he's on Letitia's court.

There is also a western transplant that actually works at the airport. He played at the time when your man was winning alot of stuff and doing the kingly type stuff and probably knows you both. I can't remember his sca name but his real name is Duke. Could be him.
