J/S is flying south tonight for a weekend visit - yay! Friday is all about working on the Grande Aissiete pattern for him, Saturday is the barn and then a visit with the Usual South Bay Suspects (minus Gillian (poozers) , but plus Laina and Cathyn (huzzah!)). Sunday morning is the barn and and then an SCA Equestrian practice, with rental lesson horses so J/S will get to ride, followed by lunch and then the airport (sigh). It will be too short a visit, but *way* better than no visit at all. :-)

Date: 2009-07-23 08:20 pm (UTC)"Grande Aissiete" (sp?) refers to the really-huge armsye style you see in the extant Charles Dubois pourpoint. In fact, we'll be playing with
The goal is to make J/S a new gambeson, and the joy of this style is that you can lift your arms up without pulling everything else up, since the fitted hip section acts like a hip belt.
