Learned today that my car needed to have the breaks replaced, along with the distributor. With the tow cost the whole thing is costing me over $1600. :-(

Stressed out about how this is effecting my ability to fulfill my work obligations. Had yet another stress dream last night. :-(

Supposed to be able to pick up my car by COB today. Still cheaper than buying, even another little junker. At least I'm getting more sunshade painting done, and I may get a handle on my laundry today. ;-)

Have you considered getting AAA? It's mostly for those what if situations, but it has saved me the cost of a tow multiple times. :)

Ya, she has Triple A but only the basic version that tows you five miles. I had offered her to use my Triple A plus (which gets you 100 miles) when she was still by the side of the road, but I didn't have enough time to get to her to give them my card instead of hers. :)

Drat. That sucks.

I'm glad that the brakes failed in the less exciting way. (((hugs)))

ugh, car maintenance. It's always lots of money spent on something that just doesn't show, kind of like getting a new roof. Glad it wasn't worse, though.

Hugs and sympathy...

See my userpic for the tea, and I'll give you empathy. New transmission for me, but yeah...cheaper than buying a new car.

::sigh::

Can't do much about the tea, but much sympathy. Having put a small fortune into the old Taurus before we gave up on it ...

I remember when I could walk away from a trip to the mechanic for $150 and feel lucky. I don't know when that amount shifted up to $1000.
