16th C Salon This Saturday!

I just posted the following over on the WK Yahoo Group:

Be it known that Her Highness Syele, Princess of the Mists, will be hosting a 16th C Salon this Saturday, May 9, at the Mists-Cynagua War, being held at Ed Levine Park in Milpitas, CA. Festivities will include games (bocce anyone?), light refresments and various entertainments. Her Highness Syele is particuarly interested in hearing tales of Chivalric Deeds, both of the day and of times past.

As always, 16th C dress is encouraged but not required! Come and join the fun Saturday afternoon, shortly after the day's fighting commences, in the Bellatrix sunshade.

I hope I see many of you there, and I hope that a number of you will come by and perform. The entertainment schedual will have to be done on the day, so check in with me and I'll make sure you get a chance to perform. :-)

OK, so this is a last call for volunteers! I've already gotten a candied fruit donation from j_i_m_r -- Thank You Bunches! Champagne and OJ will be welcome, as HH has deemed champagne and mimosas to be 'period' for the day ;-) . My biggest fear at this point is that we will be light on food and drinks, although some of you have already graciously offered to bring something.

I'll be setting up all my games, and (per helblonde's suggestion, I'll bring my writing desk and supplies so people can write notes et al to one another.

Thanks to all of you in advance! Salons only happen because people participate. :-)

No, I'm home today. :-( Thank you, though. If you left them with Marguerite I could swing by and pick them up later this week, however.

I am bringing food -- all sweets, though. (Biscotti, wafers, custard, snow, strawberries.) I was going to bring some lambrusco, since it was such a hit this weekend, but maybe champagne instead. :-) I believe Ysabella said she is bringing some food too.

And I would be totally happy to perform!

the kid and I will be there, and we'll bring some kind of food (she says, her brain slowly grinding into gear with ideas...).
I'll have gold key close by, so if anyone wants to bring extra late period loaners for the day, we could dress up more people..????

Any idea what time the salon will start? Will it run all afternoon?
I'd like to attend on Saturday, but I've got a bunch of **stuff** I need to get done in the morning before I can go. I'll try to bring some savory snacks.

Her Highness wants the Salon to start a bit after the fighting has started, and it is my understanding that it will run all afternoon. Hope you can make it, and thanks for offering! :-)
