Time to get serious about Salon planning...

Hey there all my LJ peeps! Her Highness Syele's 16th C Salon is only about a month and a half away! Time to start finalizing plans. Thanks to you all, right up front, for all your contributions and help with this event. It's you guys that make this happen.

I'd like to send out a specific plea for entertainers. I'll re-cap what folks said, food-wise, when I posted about this previously below, but right now I don't have much lined-up in the way of entertainers (except Veronica, who said she might sing -- yes, pretty please?). The event will be the afternoon of Saturday May 9 at the Mists/Cynagua War. I have a lot of very talented performers on my Friends list -- anyone want an audience? ;-)

Here's a re-cap of food volunteers, taken from my last Salon post:

-- Gianetta: possibly could bring some food

-- Veronica: food contribution

-- Juana: In-laws might be in town that weekend, but would try to send food regardless

-- Aldith: was going to check with Hirsh about contributing something, but would be busy with Exchecquer duties at least some of the day.

I really appreciate all of your offers. Like I said, however, now is the time to finalize if and what you can contribute. If I know now then I can spot where we have gaps and fix it. :-) For example, it's not clear we have anyone contributing drinks at the moment.

Per games, Johanna said she's head up a card game, and I passed on rules for Thirty One and Primero last week. Gianetta, are you still interested in a game? We'll have bocce and bowling too, remember, or you can stick to a card or board game -- let me know! :-)

Not anytime soon. I don't have enough time as it is, and I have little interest in period cooking. Seriously. I am fine with letting others do it ... I am not that good of a modern/mundane cook.

Where is M/C war, anyway? I am desperately trying to find a way to work around the fact that I may need to miss the salon... A friend has mandated that she is having her birthday party that weekend and there is no way for me to refuse that invitation. However, if War is close enough to day trip, I might be able to do both...
