What can I do but squee with joy! I went to see it tonight, along with Marguerite and her husband and her perfectly-behaved son. :-)

I have a sneeking suspicion that there are those of you out there that will perfer The Incredibles. Logical: the Incredibles was about superheros which are by definition exciting. Ratatouille is about a rat with a talent for cooking -- just not as predictably "cool" as superheros. But for my money Ratatouille is the better movie. It's a movie, not a cartoon. OK, it is a movie that has to be animated. But Ratatouille combines Chaplin-esqe comedy with the passion for creating and creating art, however that manafests. And the speech at the end given by the critic, Anton Ego (voiced by Peter O'Toole, is brillent and true. And the art and animation is stunning.

OK, those who know me that I'm wired to love a movie about a foodie rat. But I don't think it's just me that will find Ratatouille a classic. :-)

Happy me. :-)

That's dealt with in the movie in a clever and funny way. :-)

I'm sure we'll love it when we see it. First, Brad Bird directed both The Incredibles and Ratatouille (although he also wrote Incredibles). Second, it's Pixar, and so far they have yet to deliver a good movie -- they haven't learned how to do a bad one, if you know what I mean. So I have high expectations that it'll be worth watching.

You're not the the only one. I thought it was the best movie Pixar's made. They managed, in my opinion, to *redefine* the animated movie with it. :)

Having just returned from seeing it I think I have to agree with you.

The Incredibles was, well, increadible. But Ratatouille was art! *smile*
