Must. Get. Motivated.

But I'm having a hard time waking up this morning, even *with* my morning cup of coffee. So I'll post ;-) .
I had a lovely time Friday and Saturday with aastg. She's one of the very few people I can have certain types of conversations with (of the esoteric variety), so hours of that was a great joy. :-) After traffic caused me to be terribly late picking her up at BART Friday afternoon, we headed accross the freeway to have D&M. Had margeritas at On the Boarder, then we got to see The Queen, which I have been wanting to see since it first came out. Obviously, great performance by Helen Mirrim. She really gets accross the queen's belief that Diana's death should be private, and her confusion and disbelief over the public reaction. Not a deeply meaningful, ask-a-lot-of-life-questions kind of movie, but a very well done character study. Coupled with Stephen Frere's (sp?) last film, Mrs. Henderson Presents, The Queen shows that Frere's give a nod to strong older women. Refreshing. (Of course, these are fabuously rich older women...)
Came home and made aastg watch Dangerous Beauty. Aastg had never seen it, and since it is now part of the costume movie cannon I thought that needed to be rectified.
Saturday after breakfast it was off to the barn. Yesterday was a beautiful day so it was nice just to be outside. They had jump lessons going on, so I couldn't do much in the arena. Aastg seemed to enjoy hanging out, which was good.
Unfortuantely, I appear to have lost my cell phone up at the barn. When I go there today I will check around, but I expect I'll probably have to buy a new one. So don't try to call me on my cell in the next few days, as I will not get it. Email is better: tlwhyte AT comcast DOT net. I'll let folks know when the phone-thing is resolved.
After the barn we had lunch at Flames and coffee at Starbucks, the cononical stops after one spends time at the barn. Much good chattage about life, the universe, and everything. Then it was off to BART to drop aastg off so she could go visit JIMR and crew.
I got home and was slug like for the rest of the evening. Worked some on my middle class elizabethan cap -- mostly handwork. Watched the Lawrence Olivier/Greer Garson version of Pride and Prejudace, which I'd never seen. Followed the story closer than I had expected, but significant changes to the usual story. Oh well, I think it was made in the late 1930s or in 1940, so it was to be exected. Crashed early.
Today I need to do a bunch of stuff, including general house upkeep and laundry, going to the barn, maybe some work, and hopefully a little more sewing. I'm off! ;-)
