Crazy busy until after Beltane...
Apr. 30th, 2007 01:39 pm...and even then things won't slow down that much.
1) Welcome to LJ J_I_M_R! Huzzah!
2) Tarnmist was, as always, fun and lovely. Good to see everybody. Kingdom Equestrium was well attended, and like last year we had a big CAID contingent. Great weather. The site is a horse camp *relatively* close the the beach, which makes for sandy ground and so is not as clean a site as camping on grass. But there are lots of trees -- a good site for a convivial event. Brandee, I confess, got grumpy because a) she had to work both Saturday *and* Sunday, which is not her usual SCA routine, and b) sea foam obviously eats horses. And walking on wet sand gets her delicate tooties wet (oh the horror!) She has also gotten more herd bound, which is new for her. And she jigs when another horse rides toward her, although it is OK if she goes towards another horse. Weird. She did this to both Marguerite and I.
Marguerite and I camped in her pavillion, and we shared a kitchen with Zinaida and Corwyn, who trailered Brandee along with their horses. Many, many thanks to them for making the event possible for us. :-) But, OMG, set up and tear down with a full pavillion and a horse is exhausting, even with help from other people. :-0
3) So sorry to have missed goldenstag's party. I hope everyone had a great time. :-)
4) Still have another report to finish.
5) Need to recover from Equestrium and pack for Beltane. I'm looking forward to it, but packing is always stressful for me. Many thanks to misagillian and leohtulf wh are going to help me get stuff to the site. Like I've mentioned before, I now need a vehicle to commute in that I can also get my encampment into. Used Honda Odysseys are now looking very good to me. We shall see; a number of factors are involved (no need for oversharing).
6) MHO on recent Mists Coronet-fu: ( Read more... )
Back to work now...
