Hoping for the best for A&S attendees
Jul. 22nd, 2006 08:41 amI really hope everybody who goes to A&S this weekend are OK; I worry that this heat is going to take a heavy toll on people. :-/
Non-sequitor: I heard a story on NPR this morning about these people that are making "original" Star Trek episodes and publishing them on the Internet. They got permission from Paramount to do this, and apparently the design quality is good. It warms my heart to hear about things like this. I think this sort of amature enthusiasm -- along with the SCA and other fandom-hobby-to-create-coolness -- is a triumph of both will and hope. Go them! Go us! :-)
I finished writing my report last night. Today I'm going back into work to do final edits and talk to my PM about finalizing the thing. I can't complain, really, because Livermore is supposed to get to 110, which would put a big strain on my A/C. My cats seem to like the heat, so they should be OK (I'll leave the A/C set to about 80).
Once I'm done at work I'm heading off to Marguerite's air conditioned house to help her paint and decorate. Obviously not the best weather for it but she's on a tight schedual. And my internal guilt button is just way to big to let a pregnant woman have to do all this stuff by herself.
If it cools off enough this evening I'll turn Brandee out; if not, well, I doubt she'll mind not moving much in this heat. I don't really *know* what's best for Brandee in this sort of heat; guess I'll have to ask for opinions at the barn.
I only rode once this week (Tuesday), and boy am I feeling it. My legs feel like they have lost muscle tone. Getting back on the horse (ha ha) on Monday it going to be a trial.
