Strong reactions
Nov. 17th, 2005 11:40 amOK, I should be working, but I just read something (on LJ, as a matter of fact) that I just had a strong internal reaction to, and now I've got to get the following thought out of my system.
I think most people can relate to this scenario: You hear someone say something--usually someone you causually know, a friend of a friend, or a fellow member of a social group--and that something pegs that person's character for you for either good or ill. In the best case scenario, it's something that makes you want to get to know that person better. In the worse case it's something that tells you that you will never like that person, and you make the decision to steer clear.
