Just trying to get this out of my brain so I can get focused on my report. Not very interesting unless you are me, I'm afraid.

Really want to accomplish:
-- Finish partlet for 12th Night dress and get hem guard sewn on by Crosston Ball (Jan.27). I want to be *done* this this dress...
-- Hem the pink the pink loose overgown/ropa-thingee that helblonde et al made me to a workable length. I'm flattereed that they think I'm much taller than I really am. ;-)
-- Finish raisin/purple wool kirtle dress by March Crown (March 23?) Will be worn with my green coat-wool short ropa for the As God Is My Witness I Will Never Be Cold Again outfit.
-- Start the %&$#@ paint job on my pavillion. I've been putting this off for far too long. Deadline for completion of pavillion painting is Beltane.
-- Clean up the disaster area that is my room and kitchen. Re-organize sewing room to recover from 12th Night Sewing Madness. Deadline for latter: Feb.4 (when I'm having some guests.)
-- Get Vyncent's measurements so I can start the shirt I owe him in payment for my shoes.

Would be nice:
-- Practice more 16th C recipes in preparation for the Slackers Club.
-- Find out more about the 10 March rapier event. I'm at Ed Levine all the time anyway; maybe I could do something to help.
-- Look to see if I can improve Brandee's barding, or decide if I should just make her a different one.
-- Get started on the Moroni dress that I'd love to have for Beltane. Could make the under kirtle, 'cause that would work well with the pink loose overgown/ropa-thingee that helblonde et al made me.
-- Repair work needs to happen on the cotton brocade pink ropa JIMR made me years ago (7! Time flies...)

And of course there's Brandee and that whole dressage thing. :-) I think one of the reasons that I loved Little Miss Sunshine so much was the line "The only *real* losers are people who don't try at all". And finishing reports, which I'll get back to now.

Yay! I've been inspired by you to make an As God Is My Witness I'll Never Be Cold Again outfit for Estrella. :-)
So I've been patterning a high-necked bodice for a wool kirtle dress the last couple of days. :-) You're right, patterning alone requires another arm, preferably one that grows out of the middle of my back and moves like a tentacle.
I suppose that would introduce patterning problems of it's own though...

I am working on my "never be cold again" dresses for Estrella and Crown. I suppose that I should work on some "never be hot again dresses" but at some point, hot is hot and it doesn't matter if you are wearing linen or wool.

You can use the tunic pattern we used for your new Blue Undergown to make you a nice warm coat lined in flannel.

Just make a slit up the front and with the lining...no facings.

Just a thought.

You could always do what I have done with my red charmeuse skirt and wear it unhemmed - it's a very effective method of marking exactly where it hits the floor.Or, one of the apprenti could hem it for you. It really is a *very* temporary hem.

BTW - would you like the ropa cabbage? There is almost none of the lining (get more at Thai silks, if you like), but enough of the brocade to do something with.

And may may I say that I enjoyed my few minutes of wearing its pinkness. You're rubbing off!

Pink: It's the new black. ;-)

I'd love to have the ropa cabbage. Thanks!
