callistotoniTarnmist Trip: Had a fun time this weekend. Travelled in one car with Leotulf and misagillian and Eliana (who I hadn't really ever talked to before) -- nice group to travel with. :-) Stayed at Rosie and Jed's; much hilarity ensued. ;-) The feast was fine, with lots and lots of meat. I bought wine and port, and expect y'all to help me drink it. :-)
I can't help but think there needs to be a T-shirt: Welcome to Tarnmist, the Land of No Filters. Reminds me a lot of the old Westermark.
Work: Looks like I have to travel back east the week of Dec. 12. Blah. I hate business travel. Also means this is a busy time because we need to prepare for the meetings. I'd hoped for a more leisurely week.
Brandee: Brandee had a massage therapy appointment while I was in Tarnmist. Got a note from the massage therapist that began "Totally adorably sweet!" :-)
Happy Windfall: I got a check from the insurance company for my labor for the costumes that were stolen. As you may recall, I'd already got money for the stuff itself, although nothing near what it was all worth (high deductable and low cap on jewelry costs, I'm afraid). Got not quite double the first payout amount, which was a nice surprise. Now if someone asks me how much I'd charge I have a starting amount (much more than anyone would be willing to pay, I assure you. ;-) )
This will definately pay off my chairs and my trip. Yay!
Great fur at Fabrics-R-Us: If you can make it down there, FRU has really *wonderful* fake fur right now: faux linx, fox, sable, white "pelt", and some grey stuff. 60 in wide at $18/yd. High quality, and they have big bolts right now. I'm tempted, but I'm always buying stuff for cold weather ('cause that's the sort of fabric I want to roll around in) and we camp in 80 degree temps. :-(
The bad news about FRU is that they didn't have what I was looking for for the Maske costumes. Blah. Must get on that...
