What's Up -- the short version
Nov. 15th, 2006 03:53 pm-- I acquired lumber for my pavillion poles today, with the help of Ivar. My goal is still to have my pavillion debut at Beltane.
-- I'm heading south to Tarnmist this weekend with misagillian and leotulf to attend Tarnmist's Harvest Feast. It's at Eagle Castle Winery again and I will be buying more of their yummy port and wine. :-)
-- I had to do more alterations on existing costumes. I lost a bunch of wieght, then put a little bit back on, enough to have to re-do the alterations I did last year. What a pain.
-- I was bad. I bought 2 x-chairs: the savonorola from Toscano and one from the Spotted Dog guy in Atlantia. Per the latter, he had one that he hadn't sold from Pennsic, left over from a set he'd made for a couple who broke up while he was making them, and... I figure it was Meant To Be. I'm looking forward to being able to entertain people at my campsite. :-)
-- This is Spend Money On Brandee Week. Tuesday she got new shoes, tomorrow is a chiropractic appointment along with her usual training ride, and Saturday is her massage therapy appointment.
-- Thanksgiving day will be spent with Juana and Ivar. On Saturday or Sunday Brandee will get clipped and so has to have a bath immediately before. Means one less sewing day, blah.
-- Starting to worry about getting everything I need to get done for 12th Night. Hopefully I will acquire at least some of the necessary Maske material today. Weekends are booking up, and weeknights I'm at the barn. I've *got* to come up with a sewing schedual and stick to it. :-P
-- Upcoming events y'all should know about: Friday night at 12th Night: Party, my room. Saturday night of 12th Night: Masked Ball and Maske-- come check us out, folks! The room parties will still be there when the Ball is over, really.
Jan. 27 (I think): Crosston Ball. One of the best SCA events of the year. Really.
Feb.10: The Feast of Fine Arts in Esfenn. Helblonde and falzalot are running it. Think of it as the old Ecorngil Performing Arts Fete but with food! It will be great!
Beltane: My pavillion christening. :-) Come visit and hang out; I hope to have munchies during the day. I've been joking that I'll head up the Sixteenth Century Slackers Club (SCSC), where we can all wear our 16th C clothes and hang out an look good and play bocce and other appropriate entertainments. OK, so maybe the SCSC could volunteer to do Gate duty so we can slack off for the rest of the event. ;-)
