I admit it, I cruise around and check out LJ Friends-of friends. This I found over on nibuca's LJ:

I dunno, maybe after 12th Night I could host a workshop were we could try this. I think trying something new and not having a clue is much more fun as a group! :-)

I'm *so* into fantasizing about my campsite these days...

You're making me fantasize about mine, and I've still got 80 hours of work on my pavilion!

Mistress' Masae and Katinka used to haunt garage sales looking for the old metal icechests which they'd then paint with their heraldry or whatever. At casual glance they look waaay more like a painted chest than these plastic coolers because the overall shape is closer to box-like. Plus they seem to last forever because the metal is so durable. Drop by Masae's camp next camping event and check it out--she almost always brings it. Been meaning to do it myself for some time... Hmmm, perhaps I'll go surf Ebay for an icechest now.

WOW!! Thanks for the inspiration

Look what I found on Ebay! That's a great price--I've seen them in stores at well over twice that. With tax and shipping it came out to less than $100. It says there are more available if you are interested.

Wow, those are really cool!

Hmm, weight and size are a big deal for me, because I have to fit my entire campsite into my Honda Accord.

I'll be thinking about this, that's for sure. Thanks for the info!

Have you heard about The Sawdust Shop? I really want camp tables and benches, and I've been thinking about trying to set up a field trip.

Hmm, tempting. I have *no* woodworking experiance, though. I'd probably need a lot of help (handholding, even).

But I'd sure love to have a couple of those testle tables the guy has on the Blood and Sawdust site. If I made them I could make them to fit in my trunk. In my copious free time, of course :-P

If you were interested The Sawdust Shop can hold a private class for a small group of you to make a testle table. Would probably need a minimum of three people. You wouldn't have to have any woodworking experience, we would teach you all you needed to know.
