Opinions, please.

I'd been planning on having a party in my room the Saturday of 12th Night -- I've even got a pony keg reserved from Rabbit Foot Meadery. The excuse for this party was that it will be the 20th anniversary of Laurel. Additionally, it was a way for me to give the Big Finger to Fate for all of my stuff being stolen last 12th Night.

But a couple of things have happened. We *will* be having the Maske at the Masked Ball, and that will happen between 8 PM and 10, with clean up probably taking us to 11 PM. Another thing is that Elizabeth will be getting her Pelican (yay!), and so Richard and the rest of her household will be having a celebration party on Saturday, and a vigil on Friday.

I know how I am. By 11 PM I will be ready to crash, so that's not a good time for me to start a party (especially one I'm hosting). I could move my party to Friday, but that will also be Elizabeth's vigil *and* I'm thinking not many of my friends will be staying at the hotel both Friday and Saturday.

If I cancel, one alternative is to move my party to Beltane. I won't have the excuse of my Laurel anniversary, but that is when I plan to debut my new pavillion.

Thoughts?

That's a really tough call. On the other side of it, though, you'd be surprised how many folk are staying at the hotel on Friday -- the convenience of not having to drive to Modesto Saturday morning, being able to get up, have breakfast on site, and all that ... (and [livejournal.com profile] aastg's regularly scheduled birthday dinner on Friday night as well ...). As to conflicting with the vigil, how many people go to the vigil and stay all night? That seems weird to me, but ... maybe it's just me.

I think a lot of people are coming Friday night (too much hassle to drive there, then wait until 3pm to check it, and where do you change in the meantime, etc) and maybe would like somewhere to hang out other than at a vigil, especially if they don't have anything to contribute to a vigil. If you've got the keg anyway, why not have a party? I like parties, and they're eaiser to enjoy when you're NOT worn out from 12th-Nighting all day already. So I vote for Friday night. And also, I vote for having another party at Beltaine, but that's just me. :-)

What she said.

Then you can have a separate pavilion warming party! I'll be the Liberal Green and bring Peanut Butter!

You got your stuff stolen? Ick. May I ask what the circumstances were so that I may avoid getting myself into the same situation?

My thanks.

It wasn't stolen at the hotel, but out of my car in front of Marguerite's house. I drove from the hotel to M's really late. I was so tired (I probably should not have been driving) that all I took into the house was my purse and my change of clothes.

So the thing one would do to avoid such theft would be to never leave anything in your car. :-P

I'd love to have you at the dinner, but not at the expense of your party. (We WILL be at your party if you have it Friday night.)
