Well, that was some kinda weekend, boy howdy.
Saturday at lunch there was much plotting for 12th Night over yummy tapas (Cazcal's in Mt. View). And Vyncent finished my shoes, which look very spiff. :-) Then met up with misagillian and leotulf and headed off to Thai Silks. I had a gift certificate, but they didn't have anything I wanted. Next is was dinner and The Party.
Party: Well, we'll be talking about this one for a while. The theme was Heaven or Hell and it was held in a ginormous house in the Santa Cruz hills. Upstairs was Heaven, complete with bounce house in the living room. They had clouds and blue sky set up on the walls, and created stained glass windows by projecting slide prints onto hanging sheets --brillent idea! Downstairs was Hell, with the walls covered with black hangings with stylistic flames, and a dance cage on a black covered table. Add to that was wierd movie clips projected on the wall, along with appropriate music. The dance cage was very popular -- 'nuf said.
Marguerite (who came as a pregnant nun) lent me a very cheesy store-bought Space Girl outfit, which was this black body-suit thing with silver-lame accessories. In the light of day it looked Bad, but in the dark of the party it was a big hit. Vyncent and Vittoria came as Johnny Cash and June Carter, Alessandro had a truely inspired disco ball costume, misagillian was Glenda the Good Witch, g0atface came as a "nurse", and there was even a little corgi dressed like a dinosar. :-)
I, along with a bunch of other people, crashed at the party. Next morning, while we were getting ready for the day, g0atface gave me a little gold cross of Toulous she had gotten for me during her recent trip to France. I don't think I'm ever going to take it off. :-)
Next it was off to semy_of_pearl's wedding. I went with g0atface and her husband -- many thanks for the ride! Kinda felt like I hadn't gotten the memo, though, 'cause we dressed in your typica l go-to-a-wedding clothes and most everybody else had their SCA togs on. The wedding was short and sweet, the bride and goom looked wonderful and happy, and JMIR and madbacker and crew put on an *amazing* buffet. Kinky rubber ducks were worn as hats, much smoozing, a good time was had by all. :-)
We left pretty early (right after the first dance) because we were pretty tired from the night before. I'm grateful for the extra hour today, I can tell you.
Whew. Going back to work tomorrow morning is going to be hard.
