...that it is Freaking Freezing in London! Well, "freezing" as defined by this Livermore-weather-acclimatized girl: 54 degrees F in London today. I think I'm going to have to get some sort of wool coat.

Now I'm obsessing about what I'm going to wear up there. :-0

We went to London at the end of Sept and beginning of October. It seemed very comfortable for us. I took my coat and wore standard autumnal wear. Oh Comfy Shoes are a MUST!

And have you gotten your Underground Pass. The one we bought was an unlimited pass that was good for seven days. Bus, Trains, and Underground out to zone 6.....which meant Hampton Court in Richmond.

I have a very nice long wool coat that you're welcome to borrow -- it's probably slightly too large, though. When is your trip?

Layers. I went several years ago in February and while it was nice and crisp outside, the Londoners insisted on cranking up their furnaces and keeping their buildings like saunas in the inside!! So you'll need to be able to peel as the situation warrants it.

The outside cold (and frequent rain) is why there's a pub on every corner. There's always somewhere to duck into to warm up the inside. Take advantage of those and you'll be fine.

Which London?

Cos it's quite warm in this one. Although we're expecting torrential rain this weekend.

Well, I'm the sort of person who defines "cold" as when the temp drops below 70 degrees F. :-/

Neither of them are actually predicted to be below 70F this weekend - I just checked Ontario again, and the forecast for Saturday onwards is in the 70s.

Say it ain't so!

A good allweather coat with a zip out lining and a pair of gloves (nonwhite, leather) will be of value. Also consider tights and camisoles as additional layers.

Selfridge's is my favorite department store for reasonably priced wool garments.
