Weekend going well so far...
Sep. 4th, 2006 10:35 amI should get up and do stuff, but I'm having trouble getting moving this morning. Good time to post, obviously.
Friday night misagillian came out to the barn with me. Due to a series of unfortuante events whe didn't get to practice turning Brandee out, a task she will be undertaking when I'm in England. She did, however, get to see how I tack up and she got to sit on Brandee while I put her in a proper dressage position. Hey I'm all about sharing the pain. ;-) Dinner followed, while allowed for much smoozing and the occassional over sharing. :-)
As many of you already know, Saturday was the big fabric shopping in SF tour with Juana and a whole big crowd of fun people. The cosmic lesson learned was that when you go into one of these trips looking for something specific you won't find it, but if you go looking for nothing a ton of things will jump out at you and insist on being bought. I had every intention of not buying anything. Really. I was just there for the company and to help misagillian find her 12th night fabric. As you may have heard, I ended the day with three bags of fabric, enough for a new outfit, and misagillian found nothing. :-( . We will need to get over to Stonemountain and Poppy soon. Well, I need to get to Lacis anyway...
Dinner was At Zarzuela -- huzzah! Much good tapas and fun conversation and yummy sangria.
I spent the night at Juana and Ivar's and had a lovely breakfast before heading home. There was a bottleneck from 92 to 880 north. I even witnessed some idiot in an SUV who was not looking bump into the car ahead of him. :-( .
Sunday I had most of the day at home. I was very busy and virtuous and got all of my laundry done, the kitchen cleaned, and I got my 12th night skirt put together and pleated. Dug out my bodice patterns but decided that it was too late in the day to start that.
Today I woke up at 6 AM, with a sore throat (feels like a sinus infection), and I was really worried about $$ and my trip to England -- must have been stressing out about it in my dreams. OK, probably brought on by my spending money on fabric. In my stuper I decided that I could help alevate the financial burdon by working the weekend of October Crown (which is right before we leave). I thought about getting up and starting to pattern, but I decided that I'd feel like crap if I didn't get more rest, so stayed in bed and finally dozed off. Now I'm having trouble moving, which is not good since I've got to go see Brandee and see the usual Thurdsay night crowd at a BBQ. I hope my throat feels better. :-P .
OK, off to the shower now...
