A/C Love

Spent the majority of this weekend enjoying the technological marvel that is air conditioning. Yesterday played out just like I said: went into worked, killed my report deaddeaddead, went to Marguerite's to help her paint her house. Johanna and Pete were there too, as well as a friend of Brian's from out of town. I got to try my hand at sponging paint for a faux marble effect, which was pretty cool. I think this is the year I have graphic arts thrust upon me, what with the pavillion and the calligraphy and now interior painting. We all took off to Left at Albuerquerque for dinner and margueritas, then I went home (after 11:00 PM).

Livermore in a heat wave; oh the joy. Today I never left my house. I closed off most of the house and stayed in the limited A/C controlled environment, and sewed to my heart's content. :-) Finished the bathhouse babe shift, so now the pink venetian outfit is completely done. Then I cut out the chemise pattern from Laughing Moon. Got the yoke put together, the back hem and tucks all done. I had some lace, but decided it was too scratchy. I'll pick up some of the ever-popular commercial bobbin lace and use that.

Got a nice call from misagillian saying that they're back; hopefully we can do lunch this week. Hope they are OK, 'cause they *don't* have A/C.

Supposed to be hot again tomorrow. I'm thinking I won't leave for the barn until really late...

I'm trying to lear italic so I can writ 16th C appropriate snotty notes to my friends. :-) That and that's what I'm doing for the Siobhan/Siobhan challenge.

Ya, it was HOT HOT HOT last night. I'm beat because I couldn't get to sleep. Took Marguerite and Brian out to dinner since their power was out so their AC wasn't working, so I didn't have to go into my oven of a place until about 10pm. Even with the doors and windows open and with taking a shower to get my hair wet and sleeping with a cold towel, I didn't sleep well. Hope it gets better. :)
