Remember Kingdom of Heaven? I liked that movie, but I knew from following its history that it had been drastically edited--the theatrical release was *not* the movie Ridley Scott wanted. I also new that there was a director's cut around because it was shown , like once, in a small LA theater to fulfill a contractual obligation to RS. Well, they just released a 4-disk director's cut version on DVD. Amazon has it for $20, so I got it (couldn't resist).

Looking forward to see what KoH was *really* about. :-)

Woot! I hope they have some specials on the clothing. Loved some of those costumes. No idea if they're accurate but they were pretty!

Most of the male costuming was pretty spot on. The armour was really good too. I am not really sure about the female stuff, what little there was of it.

True, but the film can lie. What I want to see is the costumer expalining where they got the stuff from (this manuscript, that mosaic, y'know.) Yes, a lot of it looked pretty accurate, but Hollywood makes mistakes. ;)

I need to pick that up for myself, but I won't spoil the changes for you. The stuff left out radically changes what the story was.

I'll be interested to know if the narrative made more sense in the director's cut, and if the characters are more developed. The film seemed rather choppy in the theatrical release.
