I just got a call from Ivar. He and Juana and his mom and his sister were coming back from the east bay and some idiot in a rental car rear-ended them. They are all OK, although Juana was icing her ankle, I'm told. The truck, however, had it's bumper crushed and, according to Ivar, is not usable for Beltane.

This is very poopy. Now they may not be able to go to Beltane. They are looking into the possiblity of renting a mini-van for the week, but only if the idiot person's insurance will pay for it (and then there's the availablity question.

I'm crabby for them. But, unfortunately, I now may have to scamble for Beltane accomodations for myself. I can't blow Beltane off because of the Salon, let alone the whole court-thing. Ivar said he'd probably know by Monday what the situation is.

Blah.

Yes, Ukiah...Cloverdale is $125+/night (for one twin bed), and Ukiah is $70. The hotels that are closer mostly seem to be of the boutique/b&b variety, which I just cannot afford. My mom is exploring for some other potential options, but at this point, Ukiah it is. She's retired, & I'm disabled, and that does not much of a budget make, I fear. I wish I could camp, but I have way too many things that require electricity in order for me to sleep, so there it is :(

Gad. I am really sorry to hear that. I hope that a) Herself's ankle is okay; b) the rental can work out; and c) overall that they are well. I can't imagine herself missing R&Y's Coronation ... I am sure something can be worked out for yourself ... I don't want to make any commitments -- herself is still sleeping ...

I tried calling JIMR yesterday when I saw this -- they're welcome to borrow the old pickup truck if'n they want. It's not very pretty, but it should get them to Beltane and back again.

Thanks to everyone for all the good thoughts. Himself is investigating car rentals etc. today. R, I called and left him a message about your offer. I'll keep you all up to date. My toe and my ankle are sore and colorful, but not broken. Movin' slow, but still movin'
