The Tudor Tailor
Apr. 5th, 2006 09:01 pmI forgot to mention that I got my copy (signed!) of The Tudor Tailor Monday night. It's actually sort of a small book, but it looks useful. It is strictly English, with more coverage given to Henry VIII and middle class styles. Also included are post-1580s stuff. It is as though the authors wanted to cover stuff that hasn't been done in other books. TTT also has some pictures that I've never seen before, which is always a nice surprise.
I've read the first two chapters. I found it gratifying that the authors cite Arnold and Hunnesett right away as the most useful previously published works--nice to know the Paid Professionals agree with me.
:-)
Pretty cool, if not awe inspiring like the Moda book. I'd recommended to all my fellow 16th C enthusiasts.
