Quick update
Apr. 5th, 2006 12:13 amBeing on Radnor and Ysebeau(sp?)'s court is going to be A Hoot (TM). I haven't been on a court for about 20 years. Given that fact and the people involved (including my old drinking buddy Cathie B,) this feels like a ride in The Wayback Machine.
I have gum surgery on Thursday. :-(
Spent much of the weekend doing the alterations on my old blue linen French dress. I figured getting that done and making a new standing ruff was more realistic than making my tourney Venetian before Beltane and the Salon.
Before the court meeting on Sunday Marguerite, Gillian and I made world record time checking out Poppy and Stone Mtn. Gillian had never been, so the goal was to just show her where these legendary places are and what they're like. Last minute thing; saw both in little over an hour. Happily I did not see anything I wanted to buy.
Salon planning is proceeding. I'm kinda stressing about the space issues, and hoping that people actually come.
I have sewing that I'd like to have done but I don't want to do it. I have the fabric for 2 linen cotehardies and some wool and linen for some 12th C stuff, but I'd rather sew my 16th C stuff: a wool kirtle to go under my green coat, my tourney venetian out of a very pink cotton brocade, and my planned 12th night dress. Oh, and a set of boy clothes I started for myself about 2 years ago. Maybe I can bribe g0atface...
Going over to Marguerite's tonight to drape a ropa pattern for her. Jammies!
Brandee is doing well. We are *all* sick of the rain. Thank goodness the barn was dry enough for Brandee to get a turnout on Saturday. Missed seeing folks at Coronet, but I needed to have some quality Brandee time and I needed to get sewing done.
Looking forward to seeing aastg and g0atface and Marguerite at my place Saturday. Aastg, Marguerite wants to know if you can bring some gum arabic?

Date: 2006-04-05 08:25 am (UTC)I understand the tug of war about projects, too. Feast or famine! (make the boy clothes for A&S - a bunch of us are going in drag to A&S in 15th c. Italian stuff. What fun!)
