Seems to be a theme this week.

-- Turns out West Kingdom 12th Night and An Tir 12th Night 2010 are on the same weekend. It *had* been the plan to go to both, just like this year. Now J/S and I have to choose. We just talked about it, and there are pluses and minuses on both sides. Still making up our minds.

-- Decided that the most cost effective thing to do regarding the upcoming Disneyland trip (for [livejournal.com profile] misagillian's birthday) would be to fly down that Thursday night (so as to only have to take one day off work), and drive back with either [livejournal.com profile] misagillian or [livejournal.com profile] nightbocce that Sunday. Looking forward to D-Land with fabulous people, getting to see D-land through 3 y.o. Noah's eyes, and getting to show J/S D-land since he's never been. But, oh, this is *so* going to be the budget trip...

-- Dithering about what I want to do with my riding in the SCA. The following is really just a bunch of ideas that are running in my head; thinking online, if you will: Maybe it's because I foresee a crazy-busy next 12 months, maybe it's because I now don't have a deadline, but now I'm dithering about what I want to do with barding, costumes, and performance rides. Do I go ahead with the Concordia idea? If so, do I go ahead and modify my existing goddess costume, or do I start from scratch and make something a lot more authentic? Do I focus more on making 16th C riding clothes (i.e. boy clothes)? Do I go practical, or do I focus on performance costume? Do I make new barding? Do I come up with something to honor my sweetie and go for a Stallarifannsk look?

What about the performance itself: Do I go with my original music, which is 90 sec, which is very short when you ride to it. Do I pick something else, of do a mix? I can think of silly presentation things to do if I have helpers, but I don't know what I would do (i.e. choreography) to show Brandee off to her best advantage, as Pluvinel says.
I will say, though, that between seeing my problems in the photos from the WK EQ Championship, and having a couple of break-through lessons lately, I've taken a step up in my riding -- yay!

Oh, and on the Brandee front, my little girl is apparently a Chia Pet. In the last 2 weeks she has gotten a coat like a Stieff animal. She *did not* get a coat like this last year! If it's like this now I can't imagine what it will be like when we clip her in November. I'm guessing it's going to be a hard winter, folks. :-0 Other than that, she managed to scrape all the hair off a spot on her front left leg while I was up north. Healing nicely, but still sub-optimal that it happened at all. Other than that she's doing fine, I'm happy to say. Chiropractor appointment tomorrow.

-- Sewing is happening, but I need to prioritize the projects that follow this current dress. This weekend [livejournal.com profile] nightbocce spent the weekend and we got a lot done. I got all of the buttons of my black wool overcotehardie done and most of the hem as well. Nightboccee used J/S's Norlund No. 63-thingie pattern and got one of those mostly put together for her sweetie in hopes of finishing it for GWW. I should be able to finish my dress for Mists Coronet and the 14th C playday, but whether or not I finish the rabbit tippets that go with it is questionable. I had hoped to wear my "I'm J/S's Girl" cotehardie combo at An Tir 12th Night, but now we'll have to see. ;-)

Nightbocce also bought some of the new Tudor Tailor patterns, and I need to trace off the sizes I want this week from them. Hey, normally I would support them and buy my own, but I just can't afford a $60 pattern these days. :-/ Nightboccee and I both think that the early Henrician outfits would be great Estrella wear for both us and out sweeties. :-) Then again, I need to start J/S's Charles the Bold pourpoint pattern, both for a new gamboson and one for general wear. Then there's bunches of 14th C dresses I have fabric for, as well and a need and desire to get back to my 16th C roots. Like I said, I need to get my priorities in order. Of course, if someone I know wins Mists Coronet it will be all about court sewing, and that would effect priorities greatly, obviously.

-- Work is busy. Since the days are shorter and colder now I've switched my schedual so that I ride in the morning and just stay at work late. It's a good thing that I can do that.

-- Yay for the arrival of Jocelyn R. Keish! Yay for Conrad getting bigger and bigger!

-- I get to see J/S in 9 days -- Yay! We'll daytrip Coronet; I hope he likes all the 14th C stuff :-) . I'm guessing he'll enjoy that fighting stuff that happens at coronet as well (although he won't fly down with his armor). ;-) And I hope to get him a riding lesson while he's here that weekend. :-) He can't ride Brandee, but we have Cowboy Shawn who trains at my barn and at Ed Levin Park and he has lesson horses. (That's who J/S rode with the last time he was here. :-) ). I have no idea where the money will come from, but I have dreams of J/S having a horse to ride and do SCA stuff with so that horse stuff is something we can do together. This is important to me because of how much of my time I spend at the barn and with Brandee.

Well, that's all I can think of for now! Be good to each other, everybody!
