Whimping out on March Crown
Mar. 20th, 2009 08:19 amAfter much thought, I've decided not to go to Crown this weekend. I knew right away that I was not up for camping yet, and a hotel was more than I wanted to spend (and I waited too long, anyway), so I was always going to day trip. But
A) Brandee is getting her spring vaccinations tomorrow. I had thought the clinic was next weekend, but it is, in fact, this Saturday.
B) I'm still fighting off the cold/sore throat from hell, so I don't want to be out in the rain and cold.
And, probably most important,
C) I don't really want to go. What I really want to do is (after seeing Brandee) hole up at home and sew. I finished all 3 of J/S' 14th C shirts, and now I want to cut the Norlund No.63 tunic-thingie out of the gold linen twill and get it put together and ready for flat felling (not lining it, 'cause I'm hoping it can be worn in hot weather).
I'm feeling guilty about missing the Queen's Artisan's display (the only thing I wanted to go to Crown for, besides seeing my freinds), but I'm going to Collegium and I will get to see what the QA's have been doing there.
In other news, Happy Spring! It's been spring-like lately around here. The barn swallows have returned to the barn and the poppies have started blooming, along with all the plum and cherry trees. It's suppose to rain again this weekend, though.
Here's a couple of pics in honor of Spring '09:

Yet another pic of Brandee enjoying the green grass of Spring:

Oh, and my new icon? This is what I see first thing in the morning, namely, Madeline sitting on my chest, right next to my face, purring and demanding attention. I suspect I'm in for a lot of that view this weekend. ;-)
