Friday Check-in

Squee! In a few hours I'm flying north for a weekend with J/S! Three nights at a B&B on the Oregon coast. It will probably rain, but I'm thinking that won't matter much. ;-) I really miss him. Have I mentioned that long-distance sucks?

In other news, me and my San Jose American Musical Theater peeps saw Flower Drum Song last night. I enjoyed some parts more than others, but overall I thought The Full Monty was a much better show. My biggest problem was the female lead, who sounded off to me. The word I want to describe her with is "flat", but not in the "coming in under the note" sense. It was more of the quality of the sound. Plus her transitions between head and chest voice sounded clumsy to me. Fun costumes and props, though.

Being one to always look at the bright side, I can't help but think that the one advantage of long distance is that the "new relationship energy" phase of a relationship can last much longer, real time, when you only get to see that special person once in a while.

Have a wonderful time, enjoy the rain (though, with the company of a loved one, how can you not?).
