Apr. 22nd, 2010 01:57 pm- OMG I am one hurt'n pup! Between the barn not being usable, my headacheofdoom, and Brandee being lame, I had not ridden for about 2 weeks. I rode Tues and Wed night, and I just had a "back to basics" lesson with my trainer. I have not been in this much muscle ache for a long time. Just took some aleve, so maybe in a little while I'll be able to walk like a normal person again. :-/
- Equestrium is this weekend and we're taking Brandee. I find I'm significantly stressing about this. A big part of this stress is, I'm sure, that I really just feel like holeing up in my house and digging out of the mess. Super looking forward to the next weekend, since we've decided to stay home from Beltane and I'll have some time to clean and sew.
- I've seen a few fashion-focused pics from the Visconti Hours and I'm wondering if I should spend my gift certificate at Amazon getting a copy for those cool northern italian late 14th C costumes. So, is the Visconti Hours (which I realize is a beautiful work of art in its own right) a worthwhile investment if one's main interest in it is costume?
- In a similar vein, so people think that Peter Brears book on Food and Dining in Medieval England worth investing in? I'm most interested in it as a resource for learning and incorporating more period practices with our SCA food/dining. Of course, there's a whole slew of books I keep meaning to buy. So many books, so little time and money.
- I'm glad we get a break in the rain this weekend, and I'm not glad that it's coming back next week. I'm so ready for summer and warm evening rides. Sigh.
- Now I'm wondering if my barn got a deal or something on straight alfalfa hay. I've been asking around, but no one I'm managed to ask can tell me if this is true or if it's a mix and I just can't tell the difference. If true, than that might help explain why Brandee's been more "reactive" than normal. Not sure what I can do about this, since I rely on what the barn feeds. Not only would buying my own hay be a problem, but I have nowhere to store it. Blah.

- Super mad at the Supreme Court right now. That ruling from the other day and those evil cruel scumbag videomakers just turn my stomach and makes me white-hot mad. Can't talk more about it without raising my bloodpressure beyond the point where I can get any work done.
- Wish I could spend today curled up with my sweetie, but I've got a report to finish before I leave today. So I'd better get to it. :-0
