I owe
night_bocce big time
Feb. 12th, 2008 04:25 amI'm not exactly Estrella-obsessed, but I am Estrella-preoccupied.;-)
Just a quick note:
night_bocce came over and helped me sew this weekend. She came on Saturday and since everything was taking *way* longer than we thought it would she spent the night. We finished up at about 1:00 PM Sunday. Totally threw off my work plans. Oh well, I'm flush right now and there's not much work to do until we get work in from the new owners.
We finished my read wool overgown with fur collar. It works and looks pretty good, but I'm not 100% happy with it (see previous postings). It will, however, look great with the blue kirtle that
g0atface made me. I re-mounted the partlet from my old red 12th Night gown (vintage 1999) so I can wear it with this outfit with one of my old ruffs. That combo with look pretty darn English 16th C. Downside is it will come accross as "imposing", which was not exactly the look I was going for. I'll bring my this-year's 12th night partlet for a softer look.
Not only did
night_bocce sew on my stuff, but she is loaning me clothes! Funny thing, we are the same, so even fitted stuff fits us both. We are considering getting a joint closet for events. ;-) One thing she's loaning me is a green wool with red trim German 16th C dress. Yes, hell has frozen over. It looks really cute on me and I'm thinking of it as a strategic weapon. ;-)
Now I've got a bunch of warm clothes for Estrella. I should be OK for warm weather clothes, and I've got smocks for every day.
One more Estrella thing: On the plus side, I'm looking forward to enjoying my pavillion for more than just one full day without set up or take down. On the minus side, the RV parking -- where I've arranged to have insulated sleeping space with
acanthusleaf -- is *way* far away from the West camping. I'm thinking I'll have to split my wardrobe between my pavillion and the RV so I can change into the warm clothes before the cold hits in the evening. This will be logistically stressful for me, I'm sure. :-/
Well, if I don't get online again before we leave tomorrow, everyone have a great week! I'll see some of you there. And wish me luck with my various goals! ;-)
In other news, Thalia is maintaining on antibiotics. And last week I only saw Brandee once. Tonight is the only time I'll get to ride her this week. But we've got Paint Princess staff lined up so she'll get out while Team Brandee is at Estrella.
Just a quick note:
