Sunday morning coffee posting
Sep. 23rd, 2007 10:25 amLate morning. I've been sleeping a lot these las few days, and am feeling better. I think I made the right choice about not going to Coronet, especially with the weather.
But a Big Huzzah to mad_duchess and Eyvander (sp? -- apologies) for becoming the Lord and Lady of the Mists! It cheers me to know that the Principality will be in such good hands. :-)
And I need a bit of cheering. Fighting off illness and the dark weather has brought on the blues, I'm afraid. It didn't help that NPR yesterday was seemingly filled with stories about death and dying. :-/
Got some sewing done, but none of it terribly exciting. I realized that the Tolkien/Joint B-day party is only a month away, and so I got back to re-fitting my Anglo-Saxon stuff from Historic Enterprises. I basically had to cut the tunics apart and put them back together. Unfortunately, when I dug out my serger I couldn't make it work, and after about 20 min. of frustration I decided to not use it. My newest Viking machine has a nice blanket-stich edging so I just used that. I finished the wool tunic refit and am down to the hand-work portion of the linen (namely, the sewing of the tape facings for the riding-slits I put in, and and the cuff hems. No embroidery yet; I'm going to make the pants before I get to the embroidery of Rohan motifs. But I found a belt with celtic interlace and a celtic horse buckel, and I've got those celtic horse tryptic pins, so I hope to achieve the Rohan look even if I don't get to the embroidery. :-)
The Little Tyrant has decided that it is fun to squeeze through my sewing machine and bap at stuff. Obvously, the only way I'm getting any sewing done is by locking TLT out for blocks of times and then taking breaks from sewing to appease Himself. My other kitties are ignoring it all.
Hmm, I doubt I'll get into work today. I think instead I'll give my body one more day of rest and try to make an early start of it Monday.
I hope everybody had fun at Coronet! I'm looking forward to hearing stories.
