3:10 to Yuma Non-Spoiler review
Sep. 10th, 2007 11:12 pmOverall, I thought it was well acted, well shot, and well done in general. I do think it helps if you are already a fan of the Western genre, though. And there is a very clever Satan Tempting Christ in the Wilderness vibe between the Christian Bale and Russel Crowe characters. Brings up interesting questions about the concept of Loyalty as well.
The only bad part was my problem alone. As most of you know, I have some hearing loss and there are times this really bites me. This was one of those times. The CB and RC characters have this conversation about 10, maybe 15 minutes before the end of the film, and because I could only make out one line of that entire conversation I was Quite Confused for the rest of the movie. I had to ask Aldith after the movie ended to clue me in, which she graciously did. Sure missed the replay/subtitles option of my DVDs, I'm telling you.
And on a totally different note, I managed to mess up my knee today (again, for you longtime readers). I was dismounting from Brandee and my left foot caught in the stirrup and twisted my left knee. Mind you this is the knee that I've hurt badly twice before. :-( . Now I think its swollen and I'm limping. Took some perscription dose Ibuprophen in hopes that will help. We'll see how it's doing tomorrow. :-(
