On the Brandee Front: She's doing much better. As of this morning the swelling has gone down to a point where one has to *look* at her leg to see that it is swollen. Marguerite and I have been following The Plan, namely, walking Brandee and hoseing her leg for 15-20 min, 2x per day. Brandee is such a good girl, she just stands there at the wash rack. :-) I can tell she is bored, though.
Talked to the vet today and now we can start to work her a bit. Increased activity is what is needed to get the rest of the swelling down. M. will probalby lunge her tomorrow, and I'll get on her for 15-20 min of mostly walking Saturday. Erica will come out and give her a light workout Sunday. If Brandee is not completely back to normal by Sun night/Monday morning Brandee will be seen by the vet on Tuesday. Yay!

Work: In heavy-duty writing mode right now. Big report due at the end of the month, and, per normal, we didn't get all of the data until really late (I didn't finish getting through it until this Tuesday. :-/ ). Work would like Andrew and I to put in 45 hour weeks, but this week I couldn't do that because of the Brandee situation (which was made worse be the fact that the road to the barn closed this week from 8 PM until morning, so I couldn't stay at work past 5:30). Crazy busy until the end of the month, then...nothing. We shall see. But right now all I can do is writewritewite.

Kitten: The Little Tyrant, aka Lucius Boneparte, has, I swear, doubled in size. He's looking like a small cat now. He now can entertain himself with toys for short periods of time when humans are home. However, he is still pretty demanding. Unfortunately, he's going through a biting phase. We are wapping him on the nose when he does it, and it *is* getting a little better. When he calms down he likes to sleep on you, especially if you are sitting in *his* chair. :-)

Netflix Movies: When I get home (at about 8 this week), I'm pretty much on kitten duty. Sewing, or anything else, has been pretty much out of the question. So I've been going through my and Owen's Netflix selections a lot faster than I usually do. I've also been watching the commentaries and extras on the Rome Season 2 DVDs.
Tuesday night was Waterloo Night. I (finished) watching the 1970 Waterloo, that has Chistopher Plumber as Wellington and the guy who played the bigoted southern sheriff in In The Heat Of The Night as Napoleon (brain, what is brain...) OK, folks, there are only a few of you out there that, like me, will/would/do like this movie. There is no plot, really -- it's the Battle of Waterloo ferheavensakes. But it was made with 20,000 soviet soldier extras, with cossacks for cavalrymen, all dressed accurately. The overhead shots are *stunning*. The opening pagentry is grand, and then of course it all gets ugly. But I think this is as close as you can get to seeing what a big Napolionic battle was like. Oh, and while I am still cringing from the horse falls, the Scotts Greys cavalry charge is worth the price of admission all by itself. Amazing. Bombed at the box office of course, 'cause, hey, like 300, this movie is all about the visuals and there's not much else.

Then I watched Sharpe's Waterloo. Pretty much what you'd expect. I like the Sharpe series, and think they made better TV drama than books. Of course, I have not seen or read them all. I think I'll Netflix my way through the Sharpe series now. :-)

You've got to admit it, the Napoleonic War was one Fashion Forward conflict.
