What's gonin' on
Jul. 17th, 2006 09:51 amG&L's wedding was great, and I wish the bride and groom much happiness and a lifetime of support for each other. Misagillian looked fantastic, Bjorn's speach was really enjoyable, and the cake Jen made was perfect. :-) Super nice crowd of people, although I didn't get to spend as much time with folks as I would have liked. Since I was helping to coordinate things in a weird way I felt like I was playing he role of mother of the bride--closest I'll ever come to that, obviously. And if you ever want to strike up conversations with complete strangers walk into a Starbucks at 7:30 AM wearing a formal gown.
After the wedding I needed to turn out Brandee, and, happily, Ellen from Tarnmists came with me, so I got to chat with her a bit. Then I stopped at Flames for dinner, and maestrateresa joined me -- very good. :-)
Been seeing a number of movies lately, mostly through Netflix. ( Read more... )
No, I haven't been slacking while I've been watching movies, I've been doing handwork. So far the only thing left to do on the pink venetian itself is to tack down the pearl belt I got from saphireandsage.com. I also still need to make the bathhouse babe shift to wear under the corset. Overall, I'm happy with how it looks. But OMG this is a hot outfit! I won't be wearing this any time it's warm, that is for sure. The cotton brocade all be itself turns out to be warm, let alone the silk/cotton camica.
Once again I feel the need to whine that all the clothes I want to make are totally unsuitable to most Western events. Blah.
Work this week will be *challenging*. I went in a worked about 5 hours yesterday. Today I've got to get cracking.
And Brandee is being Brandee. Progress has been made on getting a dentist out to see her; looks like that will happen in late July or early August. She's probably just going to get turn outs much of this week, with is bad because I really should get some exercise to work off the work stress.
Oh, and then there the rapier entertainment I'm supposed to be working on... Ack!
