Off to Crown soon
Jun. 22nd, 2006 11:13 pmI'm taking off with Ivar soon to go to SF. He and Juana and I will be heading off to Crown tomorrow AM from their place, so we should be on site pretty early.
If you are one of the folks who offered to provide entertainment for TM on Saturday night, I'll be checking in with you Saturday. HM says he can't set a dinner time because we have to deal with the lists and court. Please be patient with us, OK? -- We really appreciate you're willingness to perform. :-)
I don't do real well when it is this hot. Today I had to ride in the heat of the day. :-P Erica, my trainer, could only fit my lesson and Brandee's training ride in at 1:00. I thought I was handling it all relatively well until I got into the car afterwards. I've been downing water, but still...
I did manage to pick up some gatorade crystals. My experiance at last year's A&S taught me that drinking water all day is not enough in this kind of weather, so I plan to sprinkle a bit of this stuff in my water this weekend. If you want some come and see me.
I'll also try to manage the heat by not wearing my usual gear. This weekend I'm Linen Cotehardie Girl! Moira, you don't get to look at my buttonholes and eyelets -- I did them on my machine. The Laurel part of me feels guilty about this, the realistic part of me wants to yell Deal With It America, I Didn't Have Time To Do Them By Hand! *Ahem* I'll calm down now, really.
If we aren't all sick from the heat, Crown should be interesting, and will *probably* be fun. Like I said before, this will be major nostalgia time for me. I'm really looking forward to the entertainment portion of TM's dinner, and to Johanna's B-Day Party and Port Tasteing on Saturday night. (Poosers, Jen's b-day presie didn't arrive by this morning, so I'll have to give it to her later. :-P )And if I was a betting girl, I'd put money on the winner being not necessarly the best *fighter* per se, but on the individual best able to maintain form in high heat.
See many of you soon!
