Lately I've had a hard time getting going in the morning. Saturday was no exception, so I didn't get to Brandee until after 1:00 PM. Met up with Marguerite and a couple of other people for lunch, then all retreated to M's house so I could help her make some bridesmaids dresses. The real treat was getting to see the new Judi Dench movie Mrs. Henderson Presents, a movie that I very much wanted to see but that is having very limited distribution. Wonderful movie: Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, Christopher Guest, and naked women--what more could you want? :-) If you can find it I highly recommend this movie. Then we all hung out at a Santana Row Restraunt's bar and smoozed. I wound up spending the night at M's. All in all a pretty good day.

Today I had to work on a report for work. Worked from about 10 AM to 3:00 PM, at which time I decided I needed to lay down awhile. I quicky fell asleep until 7:00 PM. Now my internal body clock is all messed up (hence I'm writing this at 1 AM Monday. :-/ I did, however, get to work on my corset some; progress is being made.

TMI whining about my feeling kinda overwhelmed. Bottom Line: I probably won't be posting much for the next week or so, because I have to do a lot of other writing.

Talk to y'all when I get more caught up.

I sent off my recommendation blurb to Deb. I also downloaded some fabric cost info for the insurance claim. It's something.

I confess I got away from the computer this evening (I worked at home) to watch yet another movie that I wanted to see in the theater, but never got to: Roman Polanski's Oliver Twist, with Ben Kingsley as Fagin. My reaction was that it was OK, but I found it kinda non-dramatic, boardering on boring. I think what they tried to do was interesting, namely, to play it for real and strip out the very romantic/Victorian sub-plot about Oliver really being the relation of the older guy that adopts him. But after watching this version of OT I'm thinking that what makes Dickens enjoyable *is* the rather unbelievable Victorian plot coincidences. Very pretty movie, though, and all the performances are very good. Oh, except for Sykes dog, who is entirely too happy all of the time. ;-)

Netflix also provided me with Love, Actually. Saw that movie last week. Cute movie, but I didn't really work for me. It seemed to me that it was bouncing between being realistic and being over the top, and that kept me at a distance. And don't get me started on the character that keeps being referred to as "fat" who is no such thing, but just isn't an anorexic stick. But is was mildly enjoyable anyway, and I like all of the actors.

Next in my queue is Stage Beauty, which I imagine some of you Golden Stag folks have seen already.

Really, I'm enjoying this whole Netflixs thing!
