Fly-by Weekend
Aug. 21st, 2005 07:38 pmI'm finding it hard to digest that it's after 7:00 PM Sunday. :-0
Started out with a low-key lesson on Brandee Sat. AM. Then I spent the day helping to restore the outdoor jumps. Women with power tools! About 5 of us worked until about 5:00 PM sanding and painting the poles and standards. We actually didn't finish, but we got most of the stuff painted.
Unfortunately I forgot to put on sun screen. At least I had a hat. Burnt arms resulted, along with a burnt neck. Could have been worse; at least I've developed something of a tan on those areas. I also spent the whole time standing, so by the end my feet were killing me.
Then it was off to maestrateresa's for a shower, dinner, and then we were off to Matt and Crystal's for the party. Most of you were there, so you know it was a very fun group of people. Maestrateresa (MT) and I didn't leave until about 2:00 AM, so you know it was good :-) .
Late this AM MT and I dropped in on the Stag folks (who were rehersing in her rec center) before heading off to Hobee's. Many apologies to finnbarrho (sp?) for not recognizing him--Sorry!!! And I hope that the rehersal went well for everybody.
After a leisurely breakfast MT and I saw The 40-Yr. Old Virgin. I,like g0atface, laughed pretty much through the whole movie. Good casting, clever script, farce but grounded in enough reality that you can see this happening, as it were. The ending is very silly, but I laughed so hard tears were in my eyes. Worked for me, so I recommend it. :-)
Now I'm back home and, unfortunately, fighting a nascent sinus headache. :-( . But overall a very good weekend, although its went by too fast.
