Kind Friends
Jun. 9th, 2005 09:38 pmI benefited from the kind actions of several people today, and I *really* appreciate it.
Maestrateresa surprized me by showing up at the barn today--I drove up and she was there! I got to show her the two foals (spring babies!), and got to have company as I tacked Jokie up. Then she hung out while I rode. This was a real help (a cheerleader!) Having someone there for me helped a lot. Started well, took a break, started having the Jokie Spins Donuts problem, but eventually I was able to get Jokie going again. Yeah!
Next it was sewing night at Marguerite's. (Maestrateresa left to go to the movies--hope she had fun!) Johanna brought her green (with yellow gores) linen cotehardie for me to try on, so I'd have something (free) to wear to help with Tangqestal's wing-ding. OK, its not the most attractive thing on me, but it *works* as long as I belt it up--Yeah!!! You have no idea how much I've been stressing over the What To Wear issue. I don't have the money to buy new fabric, and I don't have the time to draft a cotehardie pattern and make one in time for June Crown. This is a big relief. And Johanna remembered to bring the dress, despite the fact that I didn't call her to set it up--she just remembered from our discussion two weeks ago.
Third there was Marguerite, who not only ensured that I got to work on *my* stuff tonight, but gave me encouragement to finish the dress I've been working on forever for the Arts Fete in August. I needed that. (It was the classic Marguerite "so you're going to finish your white dress for the event, aren't you" method of attack :-) )
