It's been about a week since I posted. Nothing earth-shattering going on, really.

-- J/S and I are still going strong, and our relationship is getting me to break inertia on a number of fronts (more to follow). Essentially I'm now trying to get my personal house in order so that I/we can move on. We're trying for once-a-month get togethers for now: GWW for Oct, a trip to the Oregon coast in Nov, Dec is TBD, and Jan is An Tir 12th Night.

-- Finally looked at my personal money situation. I've been living high off the hog this last year because of a big stock payout when my company got bought. But with Brandee costs and and cc bills and general living I've gone through that and now, while I have a *little* fat left in the bank, I've gotten a better handle on income versus outgo. Add to all that, now, is money for visits with J/S (and an upgraded phone plan, to boot). Not all the data has been collected yet, but I think I know what I've got to do.

-- I have "burnt my ships" as it were, with regards to my wardrobe. I purged my closet of most of my old (now non-fitting) clothes and got pretty much a whole new wardrobe. Now I can't gain any weight back -- period. This investement is one of the reasons why I'm trying to sell as much of my unused stuff as possible. That and Brandee and travel costs.

-- Speaking of selling stuff, I'm seriously considering selling my purple wool spanish dress (but *not* the hat): http://www.shuttergeek.net/gallery/2726733_5xyjZ#144678927_i9WEY-A-LB . Any interest? Again, I'm about 5'6 and I think that dress would fit a size 12. And I think I'll try to sell my Elna Pro 5 spool serger, since I never use it.

-- No real progress on the work front. We've gotten some encouraging news, but no contracts yet. After looking at my money situation it scares me a lot to think I'd be laid off right now. I've go a couple of database how-to books and I'm going to start reading them today.

-- I got the 3 corner poles of my sunshade completely painted, and now have to finish the center pole. One of the side wall now has stripes and some crosses on it. I will do the other wall to match before finalizing the design. Still waiting for J/S to send me his leapord badge/armorial agmentation, which I need to get before I finish the design. Unfortunately, getting access to a copy of that has been difficult (long story...)

-- The San Jose Musical Theater season started and a bunch of us saw The Full Monty. Loved it! :-)

-- I know I'll have a good time at Oct. Crown, but right now all my enthusiasm is for GWW. I've got my wings for being a booze fairy and I've got the ginger pies made for HM's tea. I still need to pack.

-- Counting the days to GWW! I'll pick J/S up from the airport late Wed. (10/8) night, and then we get to spend 5 whole days together -- squee!!! Since he's not fighting (his left hand was injured in a shop accident and supposedly needs 4 more months to heal) we'll just get to hang out together. I'm going to bring some stuff to do some draping on him, and I'm going to drag him off to Else's (cart) driving classes. I cannot overstate how much I'm looking forward to this. :-)

-- Brandee is doing well. She's starting to get her winter coat in and is already pretty fuzzy. I gave her a bath Saturday after her vaccinations and for a brief shining moment she was clean. ;-) Her training is going well, but I did have to talk to her trainer about cutting back because I could not keep up that level of expenditure. But Erica knows that I'm trying, so she cut me a deal. So now, instead of two 45-min. sessions on Thursday (a training ride and a lesson) we'll do an hour, and that will be $10 more than just a single session. That way we can still do some training and some lesson time, but at a considerable savings. Brandee is still not cheap, but she still needs her training and I still need to have lessons so as not to make the training pointless. Of course, there was a bill for vaccinations this Saturday, and now she needs a float. :-/ I need to learn how to eat less so I can save money on food to throw at Brandee. No, wait, I'm doing that already...

-- TMI: On the WW front, I'm down as low as I've ever been since I was in my 20's. This morning I'm 0.4 lbs away from what I've been saying was my goal. I think might be done after that, but I haven't made up my mind. Unfortunately, the last 5 lbs came out of my face, I think, and now I'm jonesing for a face lift. :-/

-- It's been a year now since Teresa died. I still think about her, and what she would and would not have liked. I had such a good year, I can't help but feel a little bad that Teresa didn't get to have a good year too. Looking back I can see how big an effect her death had on me. Life is short and I need to keep moving forward.

Well, that's about all I can think of at the moment. I hope you all are healthy and that life is treating you as well as possible. :-)

What do you want for the serger? Mine has reached the point of no repairs, and I'm considering investing a NEW new one (as oppsoed to another refurbished one).

OMG, very interested in the dress, if I could (a) afford it & (b) fit it. I'm too short, but I fix that all the time. If you could email me details (asking price, measurements, how we might arrange the deal) to trystkat(at)yahoo(dot)com, well, things could happen :-)

Glad everything is going so well! I too am very interested in the dress - if it doesn't get snapped up before Crown, any chance I could try it on there? :-)

I feel like I need to mention that Teresa's last months were actually pretty good comparatively speaking. I'm sure she must have told you that she was happy at last. Even though she had to have that surgery, it didn't keep her from being pleased with what she had accomplished in the last few years, and how well her kids were doing. She loved her new job, and had taken time for family and friends within the week before she died. I think she went to sleep tired but satisfied, and what else can we ask, no matter how long or short our lives are.
