SCA calender: the lull before the storm

ysabella_dolfin just posted about her SCA event plans and that got me thinking. I took a look at the calender and the upshot is that after Purg things are going speed up. October is downright crazy, with major events every weekend and misagillian's b-day at the end of it all (love you, babe! ;-) ). November has 3 events that I'd *like* to go to (Mists Bardic, Tarnmist's feast, and Mists Investiture), but I'm thinking something will have to give. December is pretty free, but not as much as it used to be because we no longer shut down here at work the week between Christmas and New Year's. West Kingdom 12th Night is right after New Year's (Jan.3). Sewing deadlines loom...

And in part to further my quest to get out of the kingdom more I've decided to go to An Tir 12th Night. I've got a room reserved and everything; should be educational. ;-) Not too bad this year; I'll have been to Estrella, I went to West/An Tir, I plan to go to the Great Western War, and I'll start next year by checking out An Tir again. And there is talk amongst some of us in here in the meercat colony about going to Pennsic in 2009.

You will enjoy An Tir 12th Night, I think. It's a LOT more meeting-driven than West 12th Night though, so don't be surprised if people (peers) simply disappear for huge chunks of time.

I'll be at Pennsic 2009, unless the gods conspire against me. current plan is to trailer out all my STUFF, so expect full scale food geekery. oh darn.

I've been to pennsic a handful of times and never camped. I'm looking forward to it, even with the weather that will kick my butt......
