10,000 BC = Bad Idea

I had the following conversation last night, which reminded me that I never posted about seeing the 10,000 BC movie with [livejournal.com profile] j_i_m_r, [livejournal.com profile] misagillian, [livejournal.com profile] leohtulf, [livejournal.com profile] helblonde, and [livejournal.com profile] moriven.

Owen [ex and housmate]: "Maria [the other housemate] tells me that there were mammoths building piramids. You said it was bad, but you didn't tell me about the mammoths building the piramids."
Me: "It was all so bad, if I had started with that I wouldn't have known when to stop."
Owen: "I'll have to put in on my Netflix queue."
Me: "Why, to engage in shared cultural suffering?"
Owen: "'Embrace the Suck', as they say."

We did the plan, which was to imbibe reasonable amounts of alcohol before seeing the movie. [livejournal.com profile] j_i_m_r and I had 2 magaritas each. Unfortunately, there is not enough alcohol in the world to make that movie palatable. It is a testament to the Power of Friendship that they are all still speaking to me after I made them see this movie. Leaving the theater I got:

J_i_m_r: "That was not a 2 margerita movie, that was a *4* marguerita movie!"

Misagillian (voice brimming with concern and forgiveness): "So, *what* was it you saw that make you think it was a good idea to see that movie?"

Sigh. Sorry guys! The rest of you have now been warned.
